What is Textile Slitting?

Slitting is in simple terms the resizing and proportioning of fabrics to provide more manageable sizes to work with. By using the exact size and proportioned fabric needed will vastly increase productivity with its use. If a fabric is large and longer than it needs to be it will be more trouble to handle and will possibly cause issues and mistakes in handling it.

Slitting will allow for the fabrics that you have had manufactured or have had delivered to be cut up into more effective sizes for use.

Regardless of what kind of custom textile cutting you’re in need of, you can trust HTC to get the job done for you. For over four decades, the residents and businesses of Qld and nationwide have trusted us to cut and handle everything that has to do with their custom fabrics. Consumers who have used our services know that we make the process a breeze.

Businesses use HTC for a variety of reasons...

For some organization's we are an integral part of their production, creating smaller sized rolls in length, width or both to facilitate their onward production processes. For others we are an emergency service when things do not go to plan. Examples of these include but are not restricted to:

  • The diameter or width of the roll/core delivered too great to fit the machine

  • The customer’s supplier does not have rolls available in the required width in the time frame needed but has stock available in larger sizes.

  • Re-Rolling textiles from original meterage to smaller manageable sizes e.g. 30m to 10m rolls

  • Slitting Textile Fabrics cut into more effective sizes for specific uses e.g. header tapes, weld tapes, tree ties etc.
